Stories of Humankindness
Hello humankindness. It’s more than a tagline, it’s how we provide treatment and the way we treat patients. Because the way care is provided is often as meaningful as the care itself. These are a few stories of humankindness in action …

My husband, was in same day surgery for an angiogram with Dr. Cordero. Alyssa's kind, friendly, caring, tender manner was immediately noticed and appreciated beyond measure. Also kudos to the early morning staff who pre registered us the previous morning.

Dr. Narala and his team did a great job on my legs. I am truly pleased with the result. They stayed as long as they had to stay to make sure the job was done right. I felt they really cared about me and gave me the care that I was hoping for the results are fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone as well as a team of nurses that took care of me after the procedure. They were diligent and unbelievably quick in response. I’m 70. I’ve been in many hospitals and St Rose was perhaps the best hospital I’ve ever been in both the doctors and nurses knew their business and did their jobs very well. I had a nurse whose name was Kathy. I don’t know her last name, but she was on the ball and very helpful. Thank all of you.

Neelam was very caring and soft-spoken and attended to all my needs. When I was in step-down care already, I had a severe panic attack -they did not know what to do with me; Neelam was not on duty at that floor but at that exact moment - she came - she said she felt I needed her and she was able to calm me down. I told her she’s my Guardian Angel sent by God to me in my hour of need.🙏🙏🙏

My husband Jim had triple bypass surgery on 1/23. I was able to see him immediately after the surgery in his intensive care unit. Sam was the intensive care nurse assigned to care for him. Sam was with us for the first three days of his care. Sam was incredibly efficient, reassuring and caring to my husband and was very patient with all of my questions and concerns. He made a very scary experience much easier. Sam was always professional but made us feel like family. He took the time to tell us what to expect and advised us on the best way to get through it. I don't know what we would have done without his kindness to get us through the three scariest days of our lives!!

Nurse Bonnie was the first person I met in the room where I was dressed and cared for prior to going into surgery. Her reassurance of what was coming made me calm down and relieved my stress immensely. Her kind, caring manner made all the difference.

I received the best care available. All the nurses were wonderful, but I mention one in particular his name is Alejandro and he took such good care of me. Thank you Alejandro and all the staff - you made a bad time very good.

Dr. Bregman certainly knew what to do with my feet. He corrected major problems with both feet. I am without pain now after 25 years! The nursing staff was phenomenal! They are so kind and attentive!

Dr. Hoer is a magnificent surgeon. His staff is as great as him. The care I had in the hospital was great, nurses were very attentive in giving me the care before and after surgery.
-
I appreciate Dr. Patel and the staff who assisted in my double hernia surgery. He and his team were caring and professional in their work.

Ihra took such good care of my husband while he was in the Intermediate Care Unit. She not only took care of his medical needs but she became a liaison between his doctors, his case worker, and over saw every single detail that needed attention. She went above and beyond the usual charge nurse duties for he and I. Watching her care for Michael warmed my heart. I was touched by her assistance, her understanding, her upbeat attitude, her diligence, her dedication, and her kindness.

I came to the ER thinking I had had a stroke. They got me right in and started taking vitals and getting the pic line for meds and getting my information. They sent me to get a CT scan and ordered up an MRI. They did some physical tests and later determined that I did not have a stroke but a different medical episode. Everything was explained to me as we went along. I felt valued and that they were really concerned about me. As far as ER visits go, this was a very positive one. I was astounded at how busy they were and was told that it is like that all the time. I didn't get her name, but the ER Charge nurse is a rock star. She managed the chaos expertly, ensuring that everyone got what they needed.

Dr. Eisert is an exceptional doctor. He makes me feel so comfortable and he truly cares about his patients. Although he did not deliver my second baby due to him not being on call, he did come and check on my well being the following day I delivered my baby. He makes sure I am taken cared of, listens to my concerns, and truly is compassionate. Please don’t ever change Dr. Eisert! The world needs more doctors like you.

I can’t begin to express how truly blown away by the entire staff and experience I had at St. Rose Hospital!! Not one time was I not treated with passion and care from start to finish. I came to have an angiogram not thinking I would need more than a stent or two. When I was told I needed triple bypass surgery, I kind of freaked out. But because everyone made me feel important to them, I went into a bad situation with a hopeful & positive feeling. The surgery went smoothly and my recovery staff was awesome!! Thank you to everyone who took a very scary situation into a great experience!! You’re all my saints and I thank you from the bottom of my now healthier heart!!

When you are sick and in the hospital, it is nice when the staff makes you feel like family. The cardiology unit is such a place. They make you feel like home. Keep up the good work.

"A few weeks before my cardiac event, I had been exploring the Inca Trail at 12,000 feet in Peru. If I had had my myocardial infarction there, I would not be relating this experience. My cardiologist said I was the luckiest guy he had ever met, touched my hand, and announced that he was heading to the casino to see if any of my luck rubbed off on him."
